Picking fruit and vegetables is definitely one of our favorite activities. It gets us out in the fresh air – even in the Summer -it is fun for all ages and it doesn’t require much walking either, so it is really suitable for everyone.

It is unsurprising then, that many people ask me where they should go, what is near them, and when is the best time of year to go… so here is a list of places that have been tried and tested on LoveLoveIsrael.com. Please let me know if you know of any other places not listed here and we will add them!

LoveLoveIsrael tips:

Many of these places get very busy over the weekend so you are advised to call first or register online.

The (cold) weather sometimes means places will close unexpectedly so this is another reason to call first.

Many of these places only take cash so come prepared or check this before you head out.

The dates given here are approximate as each year the season start can vary.

  1. 30 December 2019
Amazing 2 hour activity near Kiryat Gat… strawberry picking season has arrived! We had an amazing time at תות השני-Katif Shani- just put in the name into waze and it was an easy drive! They have an option for pony rides for an additional 10 shekel, petting zoo.. DS9 got to collect the chicken eggs. They had a mini art project. And an option to climb up on the tractors as well. In addition to strawbery picking. The family run farm was a warm and friendly atmosphere and very welcoming! Highly reccomend going! Here’s the contact number +972 52-257-6330. Also had a nice area with a picnic table to eat.. if you bring food with you.

  2. Also missing is http://www.pullgezer.co.il. We had a great time there 2 weeks ago picking Carrots, peppers, eggplants, cabbage, cherry tomatoes, etc. Near cfar saba. 35 nis entry fee per person + 5 nis /kg for whatever you pick.

  3. We were just at Ktifatzmi Bayit Rishonim last weekend. 25 NIS per person which includes a bag. They have juicers also, but lots of people brought their own to use. It was hard to find ones that were free. Cups were also hard to come by!

  4. What about Kvar Odem up North? They used to do cherries and berries.

  5. Great list! Only thing missing is Bustan Bereishit, in the Golan. Apple, pears and berry picking, has tractor rides, pie baking, piñata chai, park and camping option. We LOVE it
