‘We spent a very enjoyable couple of hours at kibbutz Ein Shemer with a group of adults in the Shomron valley where our guide, Amir, a third generation kibbutznik told us the history of the kibbutz. The fascinating museum with its life size models of kibbutz members followed the story of the first Polish chalutzim who established the kibbutz in 1927, and a short video showed how the children worked, played and slept in the children’s houses. Lots of special activities for kids and an enjoyable tractor ride around the perimeter of the kibbutz. You need to book and find out what’s on when. Unfortunately restaurant is not certified kosher so go well-stocked.’
