Highly recommended! Roochie is patient and very talented. It seems she knows how to bring out the artist in each of her students no matter how artistic they think they are . It is such a great feeling to create . I miss my mosaic all week until I get to create again.

More about Roochie:
I'm Roochie Sinai, born and raised in New York.
I was an art major in Queens College where I received my BA in Fine Arts. After college
I immigrated to Israel where I worked as a graphic artist and Ketubah artist ( illuminated Jewish marriage contracts).
I continued dabbling in art, teaching calligraphy and designing Judaica while raising my five wonderful children.
I work as an English teacher and approximately ten years ago I discovered the wonderful world of mosaics!
What I love about glass mosaics is that you take a whole piece, shatter it and then make a whole beautiful, shimmering object.
Yes, just like life. In glass mosaics we take broken pieces and create beauty. Besides the objects that I sell, I also teach glass mosaics.
In addition to teaching teens and adults in my studio, I also have been teaching bereaved women who have lost either children or spouses.
Especially in that group you can see how creating a beautiful object from broken pieces, mirrors these women's lives. It brings light into our lives.
When the light hits these glass pieces the colors are illuminated in different ways, from different angles during different parts of the day.
I hope you enjoy my artwork as much as I enjoyed making them!
Lots of Love,
Roochie
