‘Highly recommend Susan’s House– you need a day’s advance notice, but they do all sort of cool art projects (we did fused glass) – plus the money supports the great work of the organization.’
Description:
Susan’s House was established in 2002, in memory of Susan Kaplansky. Susan dreamed of helping youth through art. Today Susan’s House is a warm, welcoming place for at-risk teens. These teens, many from the street, are taught to make beautiful glass work, ceramics & jewelry. They are guided by a dedicated staff. Through this process they are able to develop a sense of self-worth and learn the life skills needed to find their place in society.
Come visit Susan’s House in Jerusalem, and you will be amazed at the beautiful works of art and jewelry that our talented teens have produced. Help support these teens find their path through artistic expression and learning skills that can empower them towards a rewarding and successful future. Your participation will help fuel the ongoing goals of Susan’s House.
Visitors to Susan’s House are taken behind the scenes to see how our beautiful pieces are created, and will have a chance to meet the teens who work here. Sit down to hear the stories and feel that magic that makes Susan’s House a safe haven for so many teens. Browse our wide selection of merchandise; jewelry, ceramics, glassware and beading.
We welcome large and small groups, and are happy to set up workshops for all ages. At our workshops you will have the chance to create your own piece of art to take home. Please be in touch to set up a tour or workshop.
