June 17 marks the day the Tower of David Museum (TOD) will reopen to the public.
Since closing the gates of the Museum on March 15, the TOD has been working closely with health authorities to find the best way to welcome visitors back to the Tower of David. And now, they are re-opening! They have instituted new health and sanitation procedures, new circular routes and social distancing and new protections for the well-being of visitors and staff.
But, that’s not all that is new! They are opening their long awaited exhibition, BANAI – A Musical Journey from Persia to Jerusalem that expresses the development of Israeli song and culture by telling the story of one famous Jerusalem family over 100 years. They are also inaugurating a new circular tour route through our site that offers a bird’s eye view of the timeline of Jerusalem and takes visitors to discover the mystery of Herod’s Palace and the Kishle.
And of course, their beloved Night Shows are returning. Both the Night Spectacular and KING DAVID will be screening in the beautiful open air courtyard all summer long.
If you are lucky enough to live in Jerusalem, they look forward to seeing you this week! For those of you who don’t live in the city, they hope that you take advantage of new longer hours to take a Jerusalem break with your family at the Tower of David. And to all those friends abroad, they look forward to welcoming you back soon to Jerusalem, the eternal city, and to the Tower of David, the very heart of Jerusalem.
